Trek day 9 – Manang to Yakarka (720m ascent)

Our first encounter with Yaks.  At one point, we waited 10 minutes for the path to clear…

This horse kept walking back and forth past the grains drying in the sun, it looked as if he was figuring out a way over the stone fence to get to it…

Yak Kharka is named as such because of the number or yaks living in that area.  Every evening the local yak herder would call them all in, and there would be hundreds coming from all over the mountains!
