Day 6 – Lower Pisang to Manang (740 m ascent)

We met back up with our Swiss friends, Yves and Rahel, as well as new friends we met, Phil and Lara from Wales.  We decided to take the “high” route to Manang, which promised phenomenal views . . .  we were not let down.

Can you see the face in the mountain?

Atop a 700m climb, there was numerous prayer flags, as well as a local woman who seemed to be enjoying the views as much as us!

Yves found this spot for a great photo op, but it was a bit scary to stand there as it was very near a cliff!  (I had a bit of hard time :-) )

This shot seemed to have every beautiful element necessary!

At lunch, we discovered a WONDERFUL find, the green chilli sauce shown here.  It has been at the table at every meal we have eaten here.

At the end of the day, it took us approximately 10 hours to get to Manang, but it was well worth the long route taken.

  1. That photo of the two of you is AMAZING... though, if it were me, I'd be afraid a gust of wind would take us right over the edge! =)
