Chiang Mai, Thailand – part 2 – cooking class

Being that one of our favorite cuisines is Thai food, we decided to take part in a full-day cooking class to learn 7 different Thai dishes.  It is a bit “touristy”, but fun nonetheless!!  With neither of us having been to a cooking class before, we were a bit skeptical about the amount of information that we would actually obtain from it…but were pleasantly surprised to come out of the class actually knowing how to accurately cook these dishes (which tasted fantastic as well!)  Our teacher first took us to a local market, where we learned about different kinds of rice, spices, and vegetables, and then we were off to the classroom to start cookin!
