The last stop on our trek would be Pokhara, not so much for the trekking, but for the relaxation! During the trek, we would hear so many wonderful things about this “sleepy” town, and we were not let down! While there are more people in this town than in the villages we trekked through, it is not near as busy or congested as Kathmandu is. It seems there are only about 2 things to do in this town as well, and that is eat and shop!

We had previously said goodbye to Yves and Rahel in Marpha, but we knew that our paths would cross again in Pokhara (and again later…), so we kept in touch via email in order to meet up. Also, our friend Yanna (who is actually the first trekker we met on the trail) had finished around the same time, so we all got together for happy hour at a pizza place located on the main “drag”.
Wonderful crepe Scott had at our first breakfast in Pokhara
We did not try these, but now wonder what Octopus actually tastes like
We rented a canoe for a few hours to explore the town’s lake. There was a Buddhist monument right in the middle of the lake, but that was pretty much it…
